Another Day, Another Zombie Title
I’m not sure if these many different zombie indie releases are capitalizing on the success of Left 4 Dead, or if Left 4 Dead was capitalizing on the success of Resident Evil, but I do know I’m pretty damned sick of zombies. There have been two different zombie related releases on the Xbox LIVE arcade this year, with several more available on the PC. Aside from Zombie Apocalypse and Nation Red which are both available on Steam, Zombie Driver joins in the fray.
The difference between murdering thousands of zombies with an AK-47 is that you get to you know, run them over in addition to shooting them with an AK-47. Sounds fun, right? Sea of zombie woes aside, the game looks as though it plays like an old school Grand Theft Auto title, with a top down view of the infected city which you must traverse, plowing through hordes of zombies in order to rescue survivors. In addition to this, you’ll be able to buy and unlock new cars as well as upgrading them with new weapons such as flamethrowers and rocket launchers.
The game currently contains 17 story missions with lots of sub quests and bonus play. The game is available on Steam for $9.95, so if you haven’t had your fill in slaughtering zombies while playing Left 4 Dead, you can now do so in glorious 2D style.
