Fan of Fable Makes Handmade Card Game
Anyone who has played Fable or even just the Pub Games knows of Fortune’s Tower, the game’s form of pyramid solitaire and a profitable venture in the game, if you know how to play it well. Shawn Baxter has taken it a step further by creating his own version of the game to play outside of the 360. In fact, the attention to detail is simply astounding.
The weathering on the cards and chips resemble what you would see on screen when you are playing the game. Baxter achieved this by taking photos of each of the cards and importing them into Adobe Illustrator, where he cleaned them up and added the distress marks in order to age them. Baxter received some help from his father in making the chips, which are made of ceramic and contain the same markings you’ll find on the tokens in game.
Baxter states that the entire project cost him about $400, but he has the privilege in knowing he owns the only real world Fortune’s Tower card game. Microsoft, take note! The game is addicting and you could be selling it!
