Tomb Raider MMO Under Development?
This is a bit of a shock. Apparently according to Kotaku, Crystal Dynamics is seeking help for a designer to lead a “multiplayer vision and design effort for ‘one of the most prestigious AAA franchises in the industry.” Given the fact that Crystal Dynamics has only been involved with Tomb Raider since 2005, it raises some questions as to whether the next iteration of everyone’s favorite Brit will be a multiplayer experience.
Aside from that, Eidos/Square Enix have been working to “reboot” the Lara Croft franchise since Underworld, so it’s possible that the next game may very well in fact contain a multiplayer aspect. Of course, this is all speculation, as Crystal Dynamics could be working on a new Legacy of Kain piece, as Defiance was the last game out in that series. Aside from the job description, the ad also makes mention of multiplayer maps, which indicates whatever the new project is, it will offer competitive online play.
