Learn To Play Real Instruments With Rock Band 3
The big argument against musically inclined games ever since the introduction of Guitar Hero has been “Why don’t you just learn to play a real instrument?” It seems Harmonix is taking this sentiment to heart, as with the announcement of Rock Band 3 also comes the news that they are redefining the instruments in order to be more realistic so gamers can learn to play.. while they play.
This may seem like a great action, but if Rock Band 3 doesn’t have backwards compatiblity with its previous controller sets, many gamers will be more than slightly pissed off. There’s nothing worse than plunking down $150 for one game and the peripherals needed to play it only to discover they’ll no longer work with the next iteration. It remains to be seen if this will be a good decision on Harmonix’s part or not, but we’re willing to bet the fan boys will be lapping this up when more information on the changes are released.
