Aussies Get Stealth Censored Borderlands Copies

Many Australians who got hold of their PC copies of Borderlands this week were shocked to find an extra file included which indicated their versions were “low violence” versions. However, 2K games said no censorship was required to release the game for Australians, and steps are being made to rectify the error.
The main offending file is the “borderlands_low_violence.ncf” file which was included in the Steam release of Borderlands for all Aussies. This file is not included in the North American version. Here’s 2K Australia’s official statement:
We have been talking to the US 2K team via email and working out how this happened/ what the next steps are to amend this via Steam. They’re working on clearing this up with Valve right now and know to ask how they will handle those people who have already d/l’ed the wrong version.
Be patient, Aussies. You’ll have your blood and guts in Borderlands, but not in Left 4 Dead 2.
