Postal Worker Steals $86,000 Worth of Games

If you were a subscriber to GameFly late last year and you found that games being shipped from the Philadelphia facility weren’t arriving, or you weren’t able to return your games, then one man may be the culprit. Reginald Johnson admitted to stealing every bright orange envelope he could get his hands on, for a total of more than 2,200 disks stolen over a six month period.
So what did he do with all of these disks? Why, sold them, of course. After jacking them and removing their wrapping, he took them to a local Gamespot to sell them for profit. In fact, when police caught up with him after a high-speed chase, they found 81 games in a duffel bag he had with him. There’s no word on sentencing yet, but it seems like Johnson could be set to receive up to 18 months of jail time.
The simple solution to this problem is have GameFly change their packaging so its not as obvious, but on the other end of the spectrum, DVD mailer Netflix has experienced the same kind of theft. There’s no telling how many dishonest postal workers across the country have jacked game discs.

Yeah I bet Netflix has seen the same kind of theft but at least Netflix’s movies are not worth $60 each. Gamefly has a bigger reason to protect their games, they are worth 3 times as much.
