PSP(No)Go on UMD Conversion

When Sony announced their new model PSP, the PSPGo would have no UMD slot, its understandable that fans would be outraged. After all, many have tons of games on disks they want to be able to play on the new system, if they choose to purchase one. To sate these rabid fans, Sony later stated that they would offer a UMD conversion program for all UMD disks.
However, this announcement has been revoked, with Sony stating to IGN, “[they] were evaluating a UMD conversion program, but due to legal and technical reasons, we will not be offering the program at this time.”
The end of that statement still leaves the whole question up to debate, as “at this time” certainly means not at launch, which is only a few days away on Oct. 1st. Whether Sony will offer this conversion in the future remains to be seen.
