Fare Thee Well, Dungeon Runners

Dungeon Runners was a great free NCSoft MMORPG that did a good job of poking fun at its big brothers like Guild Wars and WoW. With colorful item names (Magnificent Curly Sword of the Steaming Dugong, anyone?) and tongue in cheek humor, many people found Dungeon Runners to be a refreshing sigh of relief in an over-crowded and often too serious MMORPG market. However, all of that will end on January 1st, 2010.
NCSoft announced that its pulling the plug on Dungeon Runners and despite the game having a paid option, they said its no longer a profitable venture to keep running. However, this hasn’t stopped the games developers from making the most of a bad situation. From now until server shut down at New Year’s, everything in Dungeon Runners will be half price. King’s Coins cost less, and XP and drop rates have been significantly upped, so people have a chance to really enjoy the game before it goes out with a bang. Which it will.
The developers are planning on a massive fireworks show for the grand finale, with the end being a massive fireworks bomb which will take Townston and the whole game down with it.
