Mass Effect 3 Confirmed to End Story Arc
Perhaps following in the footsteps of Bungie, Mass Effect 3 has been no secret from BioWare, despite the second game in the series, Mass Effect 2, not even released yet. However, BioWare has confirmed that the final game, perhaps dubbed Mass Effect 3? will be the end of the trilogy. But hey. Can we really believe that? Microsoft and Bungie said Halo would be finished up with Halo 3, but now we have Halo: ODST and Halo Reach on the way. Seriously, people. When you say its the end, it’s the end.
Of course, BioWare seems to be sticking to the “end is nigh” statment, as Shacknews recently reported that Casey Hudson, who works as the series’ project director, stated, “‘Mass Effect 3′ will be easier because we don’t have to worry about the continuity into the next one.”
We’ll believe that when we see it, but there’s already much speculation as to how well Mass Effect 2 will play out and if it will end in a cliffhanger as Halo 2 did. My only hope is that BioWare worked on the AI in the original game so party members actually do what you tell them, instead of taking cover from bullets by dancing in front of the enemy.
